The Nova 100 team are hitting the ski slopes and taking over Mt Buller with a 13 hour live outside broadcast from Breakfast right through to Drive on Friday 8 July.
Hughesy and Kate (and Ed Kavalee) will kick off the broadcast at 6am, Kelli Paun from 9am, Ash Williams will take over at 1pm and Fitzy & Wippa will be heard nationally from 4pm to 7pm.
22 listeners won spots on the Buller bus by bravely undertaking a variety of chilly challenges including building a snowman (judged by Olympic Gold medalist Steven Bradbury), swimming in the freezing cold Bay, eating a range of hot chilies and racing down a footpath in boots and skis.
The 13 hour outside broadcast will culminate in a massive Nova party from the Moosehead bar at the Abom Hotel. One of Australia’s most popular bands, Thirsty Merc, will perform live at the party and DJ Jody McLeod will hit the decks later in the night.
Thirsty Merc have sold over 250,000 albums, performed over 300 live shows, and received four ARIA nominations and a nomination for APRAs Song of The Year Award. Following the success of Mousetrap Heart and All My Life from their third album Mousetrap Heart, they have just released their third single Tommy & Krista. Thirsty Merc’s national tour Rock Ya Socks Off kicks off on 24 August.
